I've learned that you can't literally live on love, but you can certainly live for it. There is a lot of love in our home with 1 mom, 4 kids, 2 cats and 1 extra chromosome.

T & A Setback
I'm exhausted but wanted to update on Goldie's recovery. Thursday morning she wouldn't eat or drink and was very tired. After lunch when I tried to take her temp she had a nose bleed, so that sent us straight to the ER. They determined the bleeding was stopped, but she was transported to Children's Hospital for dehydration. After some convincing on my part, they admitted her. She was soooo lethargic I don't know why they even considered sending us home. We stayed until this evening. I was very hesitant to bring her home because she was not drinking reliably. Although, she was eating and running around. She's done a little eating and drinking since we got home. I wasn't able to get her new pain meds because all the pharmacies are closed on Saturday nights. (One of the reasons I wanted to stay until tomorrow am.) I'm ready for bed, but Goldie is still up. Why don't any of these meds make her tired???

The meds made Lila hyper too. It's tough, I'm sorry. It will be over soon but we had a really rough 15 days. I'm sure you've tried these things but have you tried popsicles? There is also Pedialyte in the form of popsicles.
I'm so glad you posted, I've been wondering how you guys are doing. I will keep you in my prayers. Hang in there, it gets better!
Hugs!
Oh poor Goldie. At least you brought her in and caught they admitted her for the dehydration sooner than later. You must be exhausted. Take care..sending prayers and best wishes.
Oh dear. Hoping she goes to sleep soon, and wakes up feeling much better tomorrow.
Hopefully it will just get better from here. Someone mentioned popsicles, and maybe smoothies will help? Aidan used to be really hard to get liquids into until this past summer, so I feel your pain. He just discovered popsicles this summer so I hope next time he's sick we can use that to our advantage.
Oh my, you've been having a difficult time. I hope that Goldie will keep eating and drinking enough to get back on track.
I have read that a fair amount of water can be absorbed transdermally by taking short slightly warm baths. You wouldn't be able to measure how much she is absorbing, but it will ensure she's getting liquid in her system. Let her stay in the bath just until she just starts to wrinkle.
Hannah didn't eat much for 3 weeks after her T&A, and we had to really encourage (almost force) the liquid intake. She did like chicken noodle soup, and scrambled eggs, since they were both soft.
Hang in there...she'll be off and running pretty soon!
Oh, dear. I remember when I was in college and had my wisdom teeth pulled, they gave me codeine, and I was soooooo wired. I'm not surprised she's awake--I'm willing to bet lots of pain meds have that kind of effect. I hope she feels better soon!
Such a long road, Brandie. Hope Goldie is feeling better soon.
Hope you are getting some rest now and Goldie is feeling better!
I'm sorry she was having a rough time with the recovery; praying she's doing better now!
Long time no post. You all ok?
