Nasonex

10 days ago I posted about Goldie still not being able to breathe, here. I just wanted to update that things are 100% better. The antibiotics weren't working so her ped had us stop them. Then she asked if we wanted to try Nasonex or Singulair. Nasonex is a nasal spray to reduce inflamation and Singulair would be an oral medication that also reduces inflamation. I opted for the nasal spray because I thought it would be best to treat just the problem area. Wow, what a difference it has made. After less than a week, she breathes quietly through her nose with no congestion. I don't know how long we'll have to keep using it, but for now I'm not messing with a good thing. Its only one spray per day and you don't build up a tolerance to it like OTC nasal sprays.

On the baby front, I'm 39 weeks and really uncomfortable. Apparently, most of my weight gain is just that, mine, the baby isn't expected to top 7 pounds. After doing some research, I found that my mom and my brother were both around 6 1/2 pounds. That put my mind at ease. As the midwife put it, "Your growing a baby that is the right size for you." Goldie was so much smaller than my first two and I always attributed it to the DS, maybe I need to rethink that. I should go to bed now, but even that is painful and I don't really sleep all that much anyway. Just mother nature's way of getting me ready for the big day!

Sorry I missed the post about Goldie and her breathing. Anyways glad to hear that everything is all sorted out and that she is feeling better and able to breath. Hopefully you can get comfy and get some sleep.:)

Good things come in small parcels. Ben was 8lb 7, Emily 7 lb 3, and Luke, who was predicted to be around 10 lbs!!! was only 7lb 8. So it's all guesswork until baby turns up :) Great news for Goldie's breathing, and can't wait for some baby news :)

So glad Goldie's breathing better. Ugh, that last stretch of pregnancy is the worst I think. Hard to sleep, but you know that you have to squeeze in sleep while you still can. I wish you for you a nice comfortable position that gets you some quality snoozing!

I'm glad Goldie is doing better - that's scary when they can't breathe well.

Congrats (?) on making it to 39 weeks. Hopefully you deliver soon though and are able to spend Christmas with the family and not in the hospital.

I'm really glad Goldie is doing better. Now I'm wondering if we should pursue something like that for Aidan.

Good luck in the final stretch. We will be thinking of you as you get closer to the big day. I remember all too well how nerve-wracking those last days are.

Good news for Goldie! We've used both of those medications at various times and I agree, the spray is much nicer to use. Glad to hear it is helping her so much.

Yay, baby! Your little boy will be here so soon! I can't wait to see him and hear his name. :) I think 6-7 lbs are just perfect (that's where my 3 were.)

glad the new med is working for Goldie. Noah used to use Singular but when we got a new dr she never gave it him again.
